The Holy Spirit is named Hage (Christian Tramitz) and takes little pleasure in his earthly existence as a gift shop salesman. Secretly, however, he's working on his plan to orchestrate a musical for the last day of the year. But then a young man appears and disrupts his plans. Christl (Matthias Schweighöfer) claims to be the actual son of God and says he must spread the news of an approaching end time to the people. Unfortunately, this would inevitably ruin the musical's premiere. However, Hage refuses to accept this. Without further ado, he takes the odd fellow under his wing and introduces him to his world. This doesn't leave Christl unchanged. When he falls for dancer Mona (Julia Hartmann), even God's son begins to question Father's plans...

"The trick with Viennese sausages is you have to boil them on high heat for at least three hours, otherwise they taste too much like sausage."
