Der Scheidende Schupo

mdr 2017

Ludwig Maria Pohl, known as Lupo, is just another overlooked colleague at the Weimar police station. That changes abruptly when first a bomb attack is carried out against him, and shortly afterward, he is diagnosed with fatal ricin poisoning. He has only two days left to live – Kira Dorn and Lessing must find his killer.

The detectives discover that Lupo is the previously unknown son of the recently deceased owner of a traditional Thuringian porcelain manufactory. Lupo is entitled to a third of the considerable inheritance. His newly discovered sisters, Amelie and Desiree Scholder, are anything but thrilled about this development. Both would have a motive for murder.

Suspicion also falls on Amelie's boyfriend Ringo, who was sent to prison by Lupo five years ago and has only recently been released. And what role does Ringo's mother Olga Kruschwitz play, who established Lupo's inheritance claim with a paternity test? Lupo has lovingly cared for the elderly lady in recent years.

When the dying man, in his desperation, takes precinct chief Kurt Stich hostage to force the detectives to hand over his murderer, the investigation takes on a new dynamic.
